My Favorite Sketch

I know it is no secret, but I LOVE sketch challenges!! With the way I have been having to stamp here lately, I save all my favorite sketches, print them out, and use them for the whole week...so fun!! It is the BEST way to start a card in my opinion!! My favorite sketch, is the My Favorite Things sketches every Thursday...Cindy and Frances do an amazing job of coming up with fun and fresh layouts!! This week, Cindy came up with a long sketch for us to use. Wanna play along? Just use the sketch shown in this post at SCS, and upload your card to the gallery by noon on the 6th to be in the running to win a $5 store gift certificate. Be sure to use the keyword MFTSC79 when uploading too!! For my card, I used one of my favorite new Flopsey's, Tea With Flopsey. I stamped him on a MFT Perfect Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then colored him in with my Copics. The DP is from the Hawaiian Papaya and Pink Pirouette DSP's from SU. I stamped the leaves with both Kiwi Kiss and Certainly Celery. Those are two of the cardstock colors I used, as well as Pink Pirouette. All my embellishments and punches are from SU. Well, that is it for me now!! I will be back later with another Prettie Peek for you!!

Cutie Pie Contest!!!

It is time for another Cutie Pie contest!! You have until Thursday April 30th at 8pmCDT to get your entries uploaded to the Cutie Pie gallery at the Paper Pretties website. The winner will not only get to call themselves a Cutie Pie, but they will also receive all the new release stamps!!

Okay, now that that is out of the way, onto the fun new stamps!! For today's challenge, Danielle challenged the Prettie Girls to make a card that was not a standard A2 sized card...meaning not a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card. I didn't get as creative as some of my other Pretties, but I did do a 5 1/4in square card. My main image is one of THREE Sophias we will be releasing called Canadian Sophia(or Canuck Sophia)!! I stamped her on Gina K. White and then colored her in with my Copic markers. She was then cut out and embossed using my Cuttlebug and Rectangle Nestabilities. The DP's are both from SU, and are part of the Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip Patterns DSP. Those are also the colors of my cardstock. I added a sentiment panel at the bottom using my medium sized oval punch, scalloped oval punch, and for the sentiment I cut it with my paper cutter and then rounded the corners using my oval punch as well. The brads and ribbon are all from SU, and the spiral clips are from Creative Express(bought by Jackie for me at her local scrapbook store)! Be sure to blurf around and check out what GORGEOUSness my girls have created!! Sorry for the late post, it has been a long week already!! Thanks for stopping by, and I will be back tomorrow with some more peeks!!

White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored the scene in with my Copics. My clouds were stamped separately and cut out...ya, I know I am crazy!! The Dp is from the SU Delicate Dots free SAB pack. I paired it with Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and So Saffron Card stock and embellishments. My sentiment panel was made with all SU punches. There She Goes Day Two...an Alphabet Set For YOU!!

Here we are at day two of this month's There She Goes release, and I am still excited, how about you??!! Today we are previewing the second set of this release, AtoZ and 123. Want a chance to win this set? Comment on all of the Trendsetter's Blogs on their AtoZ sneak peek post, come back here and add your name to the Mister Linky. You do not have to have a blog to play along, you can also use the URL of your favorite online craft gallery! As with yesterday, the hop started at Jessica's blog, so head back there to get started!!
I have to admit, when I saw this set from There She Goes, I was a little scared. You see, alphabet sets and I don't get along. Even if they are FABULOUS!! This new TSG AtoZ set is exactly that, FABULOUS, but I just have the hardest time working with them. I sat and thought and though about what to do, and started several cards that ended up in the trash. Finally, I had to get up and walk away from my table. All of a sudden, I remembered this paper cube that I have had for 7yrs, yep SEVEN...and I knew exactly what I wanted to do!! I took the cube(which I know people are going to ask and no, I have no clue where it came from or where to buy one. I bought mine off a fellow SU demonstrator and I have no clue where she got them, sorry) and stamped my letters on the outside of it. I placed the letters side by side on the grid line block and used Riding Hood Red, Ballet Blue, Wild Wasabi, and Pumpkin Pie ink on them. I then tied a bow with Riding Hood Red ribbon and made a small card to go along with it. The DP is from K&Co. Hopscotch stack. I think this would make an adorable and very easy teacher gift, don't you?
Okay, that is it for me now....off to Joanne's blog!! Thanks for stopping by!!
Jessie-that's me!!

Mi Sofa es CROOKED...

Hmmm, it isn't in real life, but this picture sure makes it look like it is!! I am still adjusting to my new set up apparently and haven't quite got the kinks worked out, LOL!! So, forgive my crooked, broke down sofa, hehehe!! Can you believe I made this card for nothing other than the fun of it? I have been seeing my fellow Trendsetters doing some AMAZING stuff with this sofa, and I couldn't let it sit there all sad an uninked any longer!! My nephew has been sick all week, and I haven't been home to stamp at all, but luckily I made an extra card over last weekend, so I am using it now!!yayyy me!!
So, I am not going to go into great detail about this card, but here is what you really need to know!! Card stock colors are Bravo Burgundy, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Whisper White and Parisian Summer DSP. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp my images from the There She Goes, Tastes Like Chicken set. All the ribbons and accessories are from SU, except the spiral clips...I am sure none of you are shocked by now, LOL!! That is it for me now, have a great day!!

Happy Birthday Matey!!

I can't even begin to tell you how EXCITED I am about this new Ben Paper Dolls set from My Favorite Things...I mean seriously, can it be ANY CUTER??? Before my nephew, I could have cared less about sets for little boys...cause I really didn't know any, but now is a whole different story!! I mean, I still thought they were all cute, but I didn't need them like I NEEDED this one!!
This card was made for this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge. To play, just upload your card to the gallery by midnight on the 29th of April. You will be then be in the running to win a $5 store gift certificate. For my card, I stamped Ben on a My Favorite Things Perfect Panel, and then stamped his outfit separately. I then colored the outfit, and layered it on Ben. After layering it on, I colored what was left of Ben that you could see...so basically his head. After doing that, I stamped his bandanna directly on him so that I could get his eyepatch perfect. I then stamped the bandanna on a piece of Rockability DSP from SU. I paper pieced the hat and VIOLA, he was a pirate...arrggg!! The rest of the card is pretty basic. The DP is from Rockability as well and is super cool The darker stripes are embossed and shiny!! The ribbons and brads are from SU as well, but the Spiral clips came from my pal Jackie!! Thanks Officer!! I stamped my sentiment, from the You Take the Cake set, and punched it out using my SU square punches(1 1/4 and scalloped). Now, isn't that about the cutest pirate, EVA!!

Prettie Wednesday-Try a New Technique

Two weeks ago, Jana, challenged the Prettie Girls to make a card using a technique we had never tried before. Ever since I got my Scorpal, I have been wanting to make a card using the Grid Technique, so that is what I chose to do. I used my Simply Special image from Paper Pretties and stamped it twice, once on Whisper White and once on Parisian Breeze DSP. I colored the rest of the image in with my Copics after paper piecing the can. The colors on my card are Baja Breeze, Kraft, and Basic Black. The accessories are all from SU, except the spiral clip. My sentiment is from My Favorite Things. This weeks challenger is me, and I challenge my Pretties, and all of you out there in blog land,to make it new again, by using a Prettie Stamp that you haven't used in a long time!! Well, that is it for me now, be sure to check out what the other girls have created for this challenge!!

An Inspiration Weekend Sketch....

Does any one else STRUGGLE with what to name their posts on their blog. I wish I could be clever enough to come up with something original, but alas...I am not!! I think we have had this discussion here, so I won't bore you with it...but seriously I stink at it!!
Anyway, here is a card I made using the GORGEOUS Here For You set from There She Goes. It is my favorite go to sympathy set. I hate making these kind of cards, but when they are necessary, I love to use this set. The colors on my card are Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip. I used the gorgeous Parisian Breeze DSP from SU along with the Valet Ribbon Originals. My image was stamped directly on the DP with Memento Rich Cocoa. I added some silver brad, used my favorite spiral clips, and did a ton of piercing. Hopefully this card will help to bring some comfort. The layout is this weekend's sketch challenge from Beate's talented team member Lori Craig. I also used the SCS Inspiration Challenge...what a gorgeous website!! This is the pillar that I chose.

Today's set is called Growing Old and it is a sentiment set that is perfect for all sorts of birthday cards. I chose to use a little girl on mine, but the sentiments can work for all ages, and they are on the humorous side, so of course I LOVE them!! For today's card, I wanted to participate in the LPS Monday Blog challenge. Since it is the LPS birthday celebration this month, this week's challenge is an inspiration challenge. We were given this SUPER CUTE cake picture to use as our inspiration. I chose to use one of my favorite new Digi Images, Katie Kite(which is available now). The colors from the cake are what I was inspired by, so I used Lovely Lilac, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery. It is a tad BRIGHT for my taste, but that is the point, right?! The DP's are both from SU, and the sketch was this weeks SCS sketch challenge. All my accessories are from SU, except the spiral clips. The image was colored with my copics!!
Be sure to stop by the LPS blog and see the inspiration picture as well as sign up for a chance to win this super cute set!!

I stamped my Flopsey on the new MFT Perfect Panels...awesome for coloring...with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it in with my Copics. All my accessories, including the punches to make the sentiment panel and squares are from SU, EXCEPT the spiral clips. Well, that is it for me now!! Today's set is called Forest Critters. I used the cutie pie little squirrel and the acorn for my card. I stamped them all on Gina K. White with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored them with my Copics. The acorns were cut out and popped up on another piece of Gina K. White. I layered the squares using my Scalloped square punch from SU. The DP is from the Hawaiian Papaya DSP from SU. I used my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties to cut it out the oval panel. I did a TON of piercing, added some spiral clips and ribbon, and it was done!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Each week, Danielle(dlounds), posts a challenge in the Paper Pretties Challenge forum. This week's was a sketch, which we all know that I LOVE!! I used my favorite Paper Pretties set, Flirty Fortunes. I paper pieced the take out container with some retired Haiku DSP from SU. I paired it with So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, and Old Olive. The brads and ribbon are both from SU. My circles were cut with my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties. Well, that is it for me now..thanks for looking!!

It's Jana's Birthday!!

Today is Jana's birthday so the Prettie Girls are having a hop around the blog(s), hehe!! Happy Birthday Jana, we LOVE you!! The hop started at Christie's Blog, so be sure to go there first and then continue on from here....since it is also Prettie Wednesday, I decided to combine the two!! In all actuallity, I forgot....I have been having some SEVERE memory issues this past month, and I sure hope it get's better soon. I am not anywhere near my stamping supplies to be able to make a new card, so Jana, I love you and I PROMISE I will make you a new one ASAP!!
So anyway, two weeks ago, Charmaine challenged the Prettie Girls to make a card using BRIGHT colors...personally, I don't think you can get much brighter than Pacific Point. It is SO in your face, but it has REALLY grown on me. For my card, I used Taylor's Cupcake Sketch from this weekend for my layout. My main image, Beach Bum Cooper, was stamped on Gina K. White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored him in with my Copics and layered him with my card colors. All the DP and embellishments are from SU. The DP is part of the Good Morning Sunshine DSP pack.

Don't forget to check out the Prettie's store! On top of the newest stamps that were released, Christie now has Shimmerz and Blingz and Copics, OH MY!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! Check out the other girls to see what they have been up to!! The next stop on the birthday hop is Jackie Pedro !!!

A Girl Wants to HOP!!

Hi, and welcome to this month's My Favorite Things mid month blog hop!! If you are just now finding the hop, better head back to Kim's blog to get started!! Okay, you back?? GOOD!! If you are reading this, then the newest BC Dzyns set along with new artist, Amanda Baird's set, are now available at the MFT store along with SEVERAL new products!! For my card, I used Jen del Muro's Sketch from this past weekend to make my card. The squares were punched with my SU square punches. The DP is from the SU Slumber Party DSP. I paired it with Riding Hood Red, So Saffron and Baja Breeze. The spiral clips are from my local craft store, and all the ribbons are from SU. On the DP squares, I added some paper pieced purses from the set. I didn't cut out their handles, cause that would have killed me, LOL..so I used my white gel pen to fill in the handles...works for me!!
Okay, that is it for me now, off to the next blog on the hop...the fabulous Frances!! Enjoy!!

The DP's are all retired SU prints. I added some SU ribbons, a spiral clip, and some SU brads. The sentiment panel was made using my SU cirlce punches. Not my first choice on colors, but it is cute!! Thanks so much for stopping by...have a great day!!

Little Paper Shop Monday Challenge

It's Monday, so it is time for another Little Paper Shop challenge. I saw the challenge posted on my pal, Jessica's blog, so I decided to go ahead and play tonight!! For my card, I used one of the new digital images, Little Friend . She was printed on Gina K. White paper and then I colored her in with my Copic markers. This week's challenge was to make a card using So Saffron, Perfect Plum and Certainly Celery. I used Laurie's Weekend Sketch Challenge for the layout. The DP's are both from SU...one is from the retired Celery Prints DSP and the other is part of the Slumber Party DSP. I cut my image out with my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties. The ribbons and brads are all from SU, but the clips were bought at a local stamp store. My sentiment is from the LPS set, Take Time. Well since this is my second post of the day, I am gonna quit while I am ahead!! Thanks for stopping by!!

It's That Time Again...

It is time for the My Favorite Things mid-month release, and along with a new BC Dzyns set, Kim is introducing a new artist, Amanda Baird. Amanda's first set, part of the MFT presents line, is called What a Girl Wants, and it is so CUTE!! This set, along with the BCDzyns set, will be released at midnight EST Wednesday. We will also be having our blog hop starting at the time too, so be sure to check out Kim's blog to get started!!

For my card, I used the main image from the set along with a couple of the sentiments. I colored my scene in with my Copic markers and added the lines to the sidewalk with a ruler and black marker. To make her dress sparkly, I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter using a glue pen. The Dp is from Stampin Up, along with the ribbon. The flowers are from Michael's and were colored with my Copic markers. I then added a glitter dot to the center of the flowers. The brads are from American Crafts. That is it for me now, thanks for looking and have a great day!!
